Tree of the Year campaign has been initiated by FORREST to re-connect people with Trees. It is an attempt to cure “plant blindness “in people. People tend to ignore and overlook beautiful native trees which leads to disconnect and tendency to harm trees without emotions. Connecting with trees have a long-term vision of forest conservation, overall environmental health, and human health.
Associated competition to share tree pictures and stories will be launched every year in April and winners will get trip to forest conservation areas or Wildlife Sanctuaries of India.
This is a campaign to celebrate Indian trees and share their stories with the world.
