·         Fire resistant tree

 

Ecology:

·         Firefly congregate or display on this tree

·         Flowers attract lots of bees and flies which are major pollinators

·         Preferred nesting tree for honeybees

 

Uses:

·      Used for furniture, cabinet making, ship building, dugouts, boats, carts,   agricultural implements, mine props, poles and ply wood

·       The wood is used as fuel

·       Bark and fruit contain tannin and are used for tanning

·        Green manure

Propagation:

·         Seeds
