Ecology

  •          The Adult Scarab beetles (Clinteria sp.) feed on the floral parts of Mammea suriga without damaging the host plant and helping in the cross-pollination
  •          Honeybee is pollinator

Uses

  •          The fruits are edible
  •          The Wood are used for building purposes, planking and for mats of boats.
  •          The flower buds are used for dyeing silk
  •          It’s cultivated for its handsome foliage and sweet-scented flowers; planted as an avenue tree and in household gardens
  •          The flowers are used in perfume
  •          It’s root-paste is widely used as medicine to cure partial headache         Seed oil is used in small doses to treat urinary tract infection and pus formation
